25 September:

Depart from your home city/country.

 


26 September:

Morning: Arrival in Delhi. Mandatory gathering and check-in 10:00 am at Hotel Shangri-La.

Afternoon: Watercolour painting in the garden, led by Gudrun.

Evening: Group dinner at the hotel.

 

 

27 September:

Morning: Visit with Marcos, one of Gudrun’s favourite suppliers.

Afternoon: Watercolour painting in the garden, led by Gudrun.

Evening: Group dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant.

 

26–28 September and 1–3 October: Shangri-La, New Eros, Delhi.

28 September:

Morning: Check-out of Hotel Shangri-La. Bus trip together (approx. 5 hours) to Jaipur.

Afternoon: Check in at Royal Heritage Haveli.

Evening: Group dinner at the hotel.

 

 

29 September:

Morning: Watercolour painting led by Gudrun.

Afternoon: Sightseeing.

 

 

30 September :

Full day: Block-printing workshop with Dharan, one of the artisans who makes our block prints.

 

 

October 1:

Morning: Bus trip together (approx. 5 hours) to Delhi. Afternoon: Open.

 

 

2 October:

Morning: Guided sightseeing at Lhodi Colony, Agra Taj Mahal.

Afternoon: Watercolour class in the garden – conclusion.

 

 

3 October:

Return trip from Delhi to your own city/country.

 

 

28 September – 1 October: Royal Heritage Haveli, Jaipur.

Package price:

2.200 GBP person for travel arrangements with a shared double room or a single room. Price includes breakfast and dinner.

 

 

Includes the following:

• 7 nights in the hotels named above, in the specified room categories and including applicable taxes.

• Breakfast and dinner as well as some additional meals including applicable taxes.

• Land transportation: round-trip bus trip from New Delhi to Jaipur and back (including water during the journey). 

• Private group tours, sightseeing and applicable entrance fees as per the description in the travel itinerary above. 

• Tour-related gratuities for guides, drivers and restaurant staff. 

• Gudrun Sjödén’s services as a travel guide and course leader. 

 

 

The following is not included:

• Plane ticket from your own city/country to Delhi. 

• Transport to and from the airport in Delhi.

Registration:

Registration to participate in the trip can only be done via the registration link/page provided. Registration is not possible via Gudrun Sjödén’s customer service or similar. The final date for registration is 8 August 2024. In the unlikely event that we do not reach the minimum number of participants, the trip may be cancelled. In that case, anyone who has registered will be notified as soon as possible.

 

 

Payments, deposits and cancellations:

After the last day of registration, we will send you a confirmation of registration together with an invoice. Payment must be made within 20 days in order to retain your spot. Please note that cancellation requires a doctor’s certificate.

 

 

Important information:

 

• Prices for the trip are based on at least 12 paying travellers. 

 

• Art supplies such as paper, paint and brushes must be brought with you on the trip (they cannot be bought on site in India).

 

• A valid tourist visa is required to travel to India. The entire process is done online. It is easy to apply for an e-visa to India using the visa service. Approval of the e-visa is issued electronically before you begin your trip to India. At passport control at the border, an actual visa will be placed in your passport. If you choose a 30-day visa, complete your visa application no earlier than 25 days before your date of arrival in India. India’s e-visa takes an average of one week to process. • Your passport must be valid six months after your departure from India. Your passport must contain at least two blank pages (that is, unused pages, one spread) for every country you visit. Read more under Q&A. 

 

• Vaccines must be obtained well in advance of your trip. Read more under Q&A

• In addition and without limitation, Gudrun Sjödén AB is not liable for: damage, loss, death, inconvenience, delays or injury to persons and property in connection with the provision of goods and services, whether due to, but not limited to, unforeseen events (force majeure), acts of government, acts of war and civil unrest or revolt, bites from or attacks by animals, insects or pests, strikes or other labour activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind or threat thereof, illness, epidemics or threat thereof, lack of availability or access to medical care of equivalent quality, overbooking or downgrading of accommodation, mechanical or other failure of aircraft, ships or other means of transportation, or failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time or safely.

What vaccines do I need?

The following vaccines are recommended for India:

Do I need protection for malaria?

The risk of contracting malaria in Jaipur and New Delhi is very low and you therefore do not need to take medication to prevent malaria.

 

 

Can I have help booking the flight? 

No, you book your own flight. We recommend using a travel agency. You are responsible for reaching the meeting point in Delhi at the stated date/time.

 

 

Can I have help booking transport to and from the airport in Delhi?

No. You are responsible for your transport to and from the airport and book it yourself.

 

 

Do I need to book a hotel?:

No. We book and arrange hotels as of the beginning of the course and the first check-in to the end of the course at the final check-out.

 

 

Can I join at another time while the trip is underway?

No. We will begin and conclude together and it is not possible to modify the program to suit different needs/wishes. 

 

 

Is my registration for the trip binding?

Your enrolment will be binding once you have paid the invoice (paid within 20 days to confirm your spot). If the invoice is not paid in accordance with the above, then your spot will automatically go to another participant.
