Midsummer dance – a tribute to music and life
In paintings by the Swedish artist Bror Hjorth, we catch glimpses of Margit’s new red dress in the meadow, surrounded by laughter, clinking porcelain and beautiful May flowers. The aroma of coffee floats in the air as Ingrid and Eva dance to the summer music. Bror Hjorth’s art captures an essence of life at its best, caught up in the pleasures, beauty and festivities of summer. The colours, titles and artless tone, especially in the portraits of women where the clothes are given a place of prominence, inspired our designer Parvathy. The summer dresses, tops and jacket with matching trousers that she created are a nod to the dateless style of the 50s. Art and fashion fuse in a bouquet that celebrates life and summer.
