Gudrun’s Stockholm Guide

Gudrun’s Stockholm

Gudrun loves exploring new places and cultures, but there is one place that she is especially fond of... and that’s her home city of Stockholm. Here in this beautiful city of water and islands, Gudrun has compiled a guide to her own personal favourite spots – teeming with inspiration, history and creativity.

Pålsundet

You’ll see why Stockholm is sometimes called the Venice of Scandinavia when you visit the Pålsundet canal with its unique charm and hundreds of wooden boats. They glide slowly along this narrow stretch of water between Södermalm and Långholmen where the historical atmosphere evokes a sense of timeless beauty in the heart of the bustling city.

Sergel’s Square

Sergel’s Square is one of Stockholm’s most iconic landmarks and a natural place to meet in the heart of the city. Its most prominent feature is the geometric pattern of black and white triangles that cover the plaza – the work of Danish architect Jörgen Kjaergaard from 1968. In the midst of the busy city and the modern buildings that surround it, Sergel’s Square is a symbol of Stockholm’s urban charm.
