Meet Sonja

I am 62 years old and live in Simrishamn, in the beautiful Österlen region along Sweden's southeastern coast. My husband and I rent out two guest apartments on Airbnb, where one is in a more vintage style and decorated with many Gudrun Sjödén textiles and details.

Sewing is my greatest hobby. About 10 years ago, I started sewing in patchwork. One of my first creations was a patchwork quilt made from Gudrun Sjödén fabric bags. I soon discovered how enjoyable it is to sew small cases and bags. Initially, I sewed these from Gudrun bags as well, but after a while, I transitioned to sewing with Gudrun's beautiful fabrics by the meter, often combining them with an inside layer of lovely patchwork fabrics with dots or stripes in cheerful colors. I love creating useful items from beautiful fabrics! I share my creations on Instagram and Facebook under @sonjawphandmade and occasionally sell them in a Facebook group.

Sharing my hobby with Gudrun friends worldwide has brought me so much joy. We inspire each other in both clothing and other aspects of life – we enrich each other, plain and simple!
