Jaisalmer – sets the bar for textile artistry

Jaisalmer produces a wide array of handcrafted goods and our Indian employees show once again what incredibly skilled artisans they are. Natural vegetable pigments are used to colour the yarn in the ikat and dip-dye processes, creating warm yellow tones, madder red and, of course, indigo. From the deep indigo pits come the most amazing hues. According to tradition, the sparkling mirror work embroidery provides protection from evil spirits.
